I was in NYC this week meeting up with people known through the clothing brand im involved with. I have never walked so much in a day in my life, but it was so worth it. Not only did we experience the typical tourist activities of jaw dropping in Time square or becoming lost on the various city blocks but we also got to experience the more intimate sides of New York that some others do not have the permission to. We attended a block party in Brooklyn deep in a neighborhood perspiring character and showing us the affect of times past. At the block party were celebrities such as Dave Chapelle and Public Enemy performing for the anniversary of the film “Do the right thing”. It was shocking to see the amount of people gathered together in nothing but a sentimental community, something not so often seen around my parts. We traveled to a few very influential street wear locations and shot photos of some of the new shirts for Something Simple Clothing company. The amount of character i captured with my camera this weekend is something i cant even comprehend and the ignorance i shed while there is something i dont believe I will ever let back in to my life. All in all it was an unbelievable set of hours that wouldnt have been possible without the new found friends i have made and will not soon forget. Thank you for everything.
